Columbia Parks and Recreation is teaming up with the City’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the Missouri Arts Council to bring the TRYPS (Theater Reaching Young People and Schools) Cabaret to the Stephens Lake Park Amphitheater. The group will perform at 7 p.m. on June 17. The performance is free.
The performance will feature the Audra Sergel Band and the Cabaret ensemble, which is composed of students in grades 7th through 12th. They will be performing the theme of “Crooners: From Sinatra to Buble” at the amphitheater under the direction of Audra Sergel and Nollie Moore.
TRYPS will be kicking off their 12th season with the June 17 performance. The professional children’s theater’s mission is to teach children about the performing arts, reach children not normally exposed to theater, and to teach children to challenge their own creativity.
The TRYPS performance is being sponsored by the Office of Cultural Affairs and the Missouri Arts Council.
