City of Columbia's 4th of July Fire in the Sky Celebration

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Put on your red, white and blue and celebrate our nation's birthday and Declaration of Independence at Columbia's 62nd annual 4th of July celebration! Entertainment and activities begin at 6:30 p.m. on July 4 at Flat Branch Park and Peace Park in downtown Columbia. A spectacular fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. and will be shot from the top of the Sixth and Cherry parking garage.  The fireworks display will be choreographed to music and simulcast on BXR radio 102.3.

The bands We Live in Public and the Hipnecks will perform on the Peace Park stage and bands The Junk Band and Man in the Ring will perform on the Flat Branch Park stage. Special guests at each stage will include the Hickman High School Choir.

Lots of fun activities are planned for kids at Flat Branch Park including an obstacle course, pop-a-shot basketball, games and 4th of July crafts. The spraygrounds will also be open at Flat Branch, with additional activities scheduled in the park around the spraygrounds.
