The Shred Fest skateboarding event, which was rained out on June 7, has been rescheduled for June 28. The free event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. that day at the Columbia Skate Park in Cosmo Park. Shred Fest will feature skating contests, free time to skate and helmet giveaways. It is free of charge.
All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate. Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
4 pm: Best Beginner Trick
5 pm: Best Intermediate Trick
6 pm: Best Advanced Trick
Additional events include Tic-Tac races and Fastest Lap. Helmets are required for all contests, regardless of age. The day will also feature great music and food. Don't miss out on the raffles, giveaways and skate-related prizes.
Shred Fest is presented by Columbia Parks and Recreation, Parkside Skateshop, Blue Springs Pilot Club, and Youth Community Coalition.
