GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with the Office of Cultural Affairs, is offering a Public Art Bicycle Tour for both art and cycling enthusiasts on Sunday, October 5. The 8.0- mile loop ride will start at 2 p.m.at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial at 800 W. Stadium Blvd.
Public art can tell the story of a city and the history of its people. The tour will capture an eclectic array of eighteen art installations incorporated into city parks and buildings - all within close proximity to the heart of downtown Columbia. The tour will be led by Sarah Dresser, Office of Cultural Affairs Program Specialist.
Registration is suggested by calling the Columbia Parks and Recreation Department at 874-7460. Drop-in participants are welcome. Helmets are mandatory for all participants. Cyclists should expect to return to the MLK Jr. Memorial at approximately 4 p.m.
