GetAbout Columbia, in partnership with the Public Works Stormwater Utility Education Program, will host the second in their Cruise the Creeks Bicycle Ride Series starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. Saturday's theme is Bikes, Birds and Binoculars. Cyclists should meet at the MLK Jr. Memorial Garden at Battle Garden/MKT Trail Stadium Trailhead, 800 W. Stadium Blvd.
Cyclists will enjoy a 8 - 9 mile educational ride along the MKT, Hinkson Creek and County House Trails. Cyclists will learn how to better spot and identify interesting birds. Dr. Charlie Nilon, Wildlife Biologist and Roger Still, former Vice-President of the Audubon Society will accompany riders and provide helpful tips and educational information. GetAbout Columbia staff will provide pre-ride and trailside assistance for minor bike repair needs. Cyclists are encouraged to bring binoculars for better viewing
The last ride in the Cruise the Creeks series is Bringing Green Interests Together on Saturday, June 6.
