The 4th of July Fire in the Sky celebration will once again be held in the District this year, a free event including activities, entertainment and fireworks.
The event is made possible by generous sponsor donations from Columbia Insurance Group and KOMU8 as presenting sponsors and by the Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club, BXR102.3, KFRU1400 and Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau. The City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Department would like to thank the sponsors for their community spirit and generosity.
Fire in the Sky activities will be held mainly at Peace Park and Flat Branch Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. on July 4. Fireworks will be shot from the 6th and Cherry parking garage at 9:15 pm and choreographed to music played on BXR102.3. Entertainment featuring Black Diamond - a Tribute to Neil Diamond, the Tanner Lee Band, The Follow and ADA Voodoo Woman is scheduled for each park. Children's activities and crafts are located at Flat Branch Park. Concessions will be available.
