After being rained out earlier in the month, Columbia Parks and Recreation has rescheduled the National Park and Recreation Month recreation parklet for tomorrow, July 22. It will be located in front of the Gentry Building at 1 South 7th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone who drops by during the day will be entered into a drawing for great prizes, including ARC passes, City pool passes, golf and more. Frozen treats will also be served, while supplies last.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Park and Recreation Month, which was created to celebrate the value that parks and recreation brings to the community. Parks and recreation agencies not only provide places to get active, explore nature and come together as a community. They also have the power to improve health, increase property values and improve the environment.
