Columbia Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for free tickets to the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival, September 25-27 at Stephens Lake Park. A limited number of tickets were made available for Columbia's low-income residents through an agreement with festival coordinators, Thumper Entertainment.
Applications will be accepted starting today, August 31, and must be submitted by 5 p.m. on September 11 for consideration. Applications are available online at www.GoColumbiaMo.com/parksandrec, or they may be picked up and submitted at Parks and Recreation's administrative office at 1 South 7th St.
A random drawing of applicants meeting eligibility requirements will be held on September 14. Ticket winners will be notified by phone or email.
Applicants must be residents of the City of Columbia with a total household income less than 185 percent of the federal poverty level. Each household is limited to one application with a maximum of four tickets distributed per household. Children ages 12 and under do not need a ticket to attend the festival.
