(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation is hosting a drop-in public input meeting for improvements at Nifong Park and the Maplewood Home.

The meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Boone County Historical Society, 3801 Ponderosa St. Plans include a new playground, parking lot expansion, renovations to the existing shelter, a new small shelter, and interior trail connections. These proposed plans will be on display and park staff will be available to answer questions.

Funding for the project will come from 2015 Park Sales Tax funds and a donation from the Columbia Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club. For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 874-7460.
