The City's 60th Annual Fire in the Sky event will have a new home this year. Due to field and parking lot renovations at Mizzou's Memorial Stadium, Fire in the Sky will be moved to the District to accommodate the large crowds that traditionally attend the Fourth of July event.
Columbia Parks and Recreation plans to use the top of the parking garage at Sixth and Cherry as the fireworks shooting site. Children's activities are planned to be held at Flat Branch Park and the entertainment main stage is planned for MU's Peace Park. Details of Fire in the Sky are still being planned and going through the approval process.
Fire in the Sky will be held on Wednesday, July 4 and will be free.
For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 874-7460 or visit www.GoColumbiaMo.com (search 4th of July).
