Columbia's Bike, Walk and Wheel Week

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia's 11th Annual Bike, Walk and Wheel Week will be held May 12-19. Presented by Parks and Recreation and Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, the week's events are free unless otherwise noted.  Check for details on this year's Bike, Walk and Wheel events at www.gocolumbiamo.com/ParksandRec or call the Parks and Recreation Office at 874-7460. 

In addition to the detailed schedule, visitors to the web site can register for Bike, Walk and Wheel Week and be eligible to win a Parks and Recreation gift certificate.

Here's a brief rundown of events for the week:

Saturday, May 12

Confident City Cycling Class

8 am-1 pm, PedNet Office, 501 Fay Street Suite 204

Price: $50, contact Gina at PedNet at 303-1033 or visit www.pednet.org/programs/confident-city-cycling.asp to sign up for the class.

Kids Bike Safety

10 am-Noon, Shelter Insurance, 1817 West Broadway

Wheelchair Wash and Roll

12-4 pm, Stephens Lake Park, corner Old Highway 63 & Broadway

Participants can enjoy a recreational roll around Stephens Lake Park. Free wheelchair detailing and snacks available for all participants. For more information, call Services for Independent Living at 874-1646.
