All ages are welcome to participate in the free trail ride. The planned route is 3.8 miles round trip from Twin Lakes to the Scott Boulevard trail access and back. However, participants may choose to turn around at any point, or may travel farther if they desire.
Two kids bicycles and a Trail-a-bike donated by Walt's Bike Shop will be raffled at 3:45 p.m.; participants must be present to win. The event will also feature refreshments, cycling sizing and tips for riders.
Helmets are required for kids ages 16 and under. Extra helmets will be available for those who don't have one.
The mission of the Mayor's Council is to improve the physical fitness and health, and enhance the quality of life of all citizens of Columbia and Boone County. It is administered through Parks and Recreation. Members are appointed by City Council.
