Section 11-281 Penalty.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 16334 on 02/07/2000, Section 11-281 read as follows.
Any person owning or operating an ancillary commercial pool shall conform
to standards and
provisions provided for in this chapter for swimming pools, provided, however, that:
At least one lifeguard shall be provided and maintained on duty and at an
appointed station for each fifty (50) persons in the pool area during all times at which the pool is
open to other than residents of the hotel, motel, apartment building or multiple-family dwelling.
Such lifeguard shall meet the standards set forth in section 11-280(1).
(2) Exemption from certain
regulations. Said ancillary commercial pool is hereby exempted
from the provisions of Section 3.1, Section 3.2, Section 3.3 and Section 3.4 and their respective
subsections of Part III of "A Guide for the Design and Operation of Public Bathing Places."
(3) Toilet and shower facilities.
Said ancillary commercial pool shall provide toilet and
shower facilities approved by the director of health services as suitable to provide for the needs
of nonresident users.
Any person who violates any provision of this article or
of the City of Columbia Guide for
Swimming Pool Design and Operation shall be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of
not more than $500 or by imprisonment not exceeding three months or by both such fine and
imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues is a separate offense.
