Chapter 13 LICENSES, PERMITS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS REGULATIONS*
Section 13-229 Investigation of applicant; permit denial or issuance.
(a) Upon receipt of such application, the business license
administrator shall make such
investigation of the applicant's business and moral character as
deemed
necessary for the
protection of the public good.
The department of finance shall obtain a criminal record check of
the applicant.
(b) If, as a result of such investigation, the applicant's
character or business responsibility is
found to be unsatisfactory, the business license administrator shall endorse on such application
the
disapproval and
the
reasons for the same, and notify such applicant that
the
application is
disapproved and that no permit will be issued.
(c) If, as a result of such investigation, the character
and business responsibility of the
applicant are found to be satisfactory, the business license administrator shall endorse on the
application
the
approval, execute a permit addressed to the applicant for the carrying on of the
business applied for, and deliver to the applicant
the
permit.
