Chapter 18 PENSIONS*
Section 18-37 Same--Meetings; quorum; attendance; vacancies.
The
board
shall hold one regular meeting each quarter at a time and place to be determined by
the board, and may hold such additional meetings as may be required for the transaction of
business . A quorum for the transaction of business at such meetings shall be a majority of the
duly appointed and acting members of the board. The chief of police shall not be counted toward
determining a quorum.
The chair of the board is authorized to excuse any member from
attendance at a board meeting; provided, that the member requested to be excused before the
meeting. Any member who is absent, without being excused, from two consecutive regular
meetings shall automatically forfeit the office.
It shall be the duty of the chair of the board to
promptly notify the
appointing authority
of the vacancy.
