Prior to the adoption of Ord. 17016 on 09/17/2001, Section 19-205 read as follows.

    An employee may be separated or transferred for disability when he/she the employee cannot perform the required duties of the position because of physical or mental impairment. The city can, at any time, require an employee to be examined by the city's employee health medical advisor or other medical consultant for the purpose of determining an employee's ability to perform the duties of the position. (See section 19-146.)
