Section 19-37 Candidacy for public office.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 21828 on 09/16/2013, Section 19-37 read as follows.
An employee of the city shall be placed on leave of absence under the provisions of this
chapter after filing a declaration of candidacy for any public office.
No appointive, salaried
officer or employee of the city shall continue in his/her position after becoming a candidate for
any public office, provided that such employee may utilize a leave of absence during his/her
campaign for such office properly granted under the provisions of this chapter. An employee,
upon election to any public office, shall immediately resign his/her
as required by law
