Section 2-210 Authority of purchasing agent.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 018178 on 07/19/2004, Section 2-210 read as follows.
(a) The purchasing division shall also have the power and
shall be required to:
(1) Establish and enforce, with approval
of the city manager, specifications with respect to
materials, supplies and equipment required by the council.
(2) Inspect, or cause to be inspected,
all deliveries of materials, supplies and equipment and
determine their quality, quantity and conformance with specifications.
(3) Have charge of such general storerooms
and warehouses as the city may maintain.
(4) Supervise the transfer of materials,
supplies and equipment between departments or
agencies, as needed, after consultation with the department or agency head concerned.
(b) The purchasing division shall assist department heads,
whenever so requested, in obtaining
contracts for services. Such contracts shall be let in accordance with the provisions of this article.
