Section 21-44 Purpose.

The purpose of this article is to provide an external and independent process for review of actual or perceived police misconduct thereby increasing police accountability to the community and community trust in the police.

Editor's Note: The authority of the Citzens Police Review Board to review appeals from the police chief's decisions on alleged police misconduct shall only apply to decisions made by the police chief after January 1, 2010.
