Chapter 22 PUBLIC WORKS AND IMPROVEMENTS*
Section 22-81 Same--Prior notice to owner.
Whenever the council shall, by resolution, declare that it
is necessary to construct, alter or
repair any sidewalk which is not a part of a street project, the owner of the abutting property, if
known, shall be notified thereof. If the owner is unknown, or for any reason cannot be notified,
then such notice shall be published for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of the city,
describing the location of the sidewalk, so as to identify the same, and giving the specifications
of the work to be done; provided, however, that the notice provisions of this section shall not
apply to any sidewalk certified by the director of public works under the provisions of section
22-82 relating to uniform sidewalks.
