Chapter 28 VEHICLES FOR HIRE*
Section 28-102 Taxicab color schemes and markings.
(a) Each taxicab business permit holder shall adopt a distinctive
and uniform color scheme and
company name, logo or insignia and shall display the same name, logo or insignia and color
scheme on each vehicle permitted. Each taxicab shall bear on the outside on each side in letters
at least two (2) inches but not greater than six (6) inches high the name of the company, the
business phone number of the company, and a number assigned by the company identifying that
particular vehicle. Each taxicab operated by the same permit holder must have identical
information displayed to the public.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any vehicle other than one operated
pursuant to a valid permit to
display any markings suggesting or indicating it is a taxicab or limousine. Whenever a vehicle
operated as a taxicab or limousine is removed from service, the permit holder shall remove or
obliterate all markings suggesting it is a taxicab or limousine.
