Section 3-23 Meetings; attendance; quorum.
Prior to the adoption of Ord. 17658 on 04/21/2003, Section 3-23 read as follows.
The board shall hold regular meetings at such times as it shall fix, and other
meetings at the
call of the chairman. The city manager shall receive notice of all meetings of the
board. Any
board member having three (3) unscheduled absences without just cause within a period of one
year, or who shall be continuously absent for any reason for a period of four (4) months (when
regular meetings have been held in said four (4) months) without prior council consent, shall
automatically forfeit his office. The chair of the board is authorized to excuse any
member from
attendance at a board meeting; provided, that the member requested to be excused before the
meeting. Any member who is absent, without being excused, from twenty-five percent of the
regular board meetings held in a calendar year shall automatically forfeit the office. Any
member who is absent, without being excused, from three consecutive regular meetings shall
automatically forfeit the office.It shall be the duty of the chairman to promptly
notify the council
of the vacancy. A quorum for the transaction of business at such meetings shall be a majority of
the duly appointed voting members of the board.
