Section 100-000 Res. 1-99; Public Hearing - Construction of Sidewalk, Curbing and Parking Area South of the Downtown Fire Station

A RESOLUTION

declaring the necessity for sidewalk, curbing and parking area construction south of the new downtown fire station; stating the nature of and the estimate of the cost thereof; providing for payment for the improvement;  and setting a public hearing.

The City Council deems the construction of a five (5) foot wide sidewalk from Orr Street to Tenth Street south of the new downtown fire station, including construction of curbs, inlets and piping; also including the construction of a small asphaltic concrete parking lot west of Orr Street and southeast of the fire station, all in accordance with the City of Columbia Street and Storm Sewer Specifications and Standards, necessary to the welfare and improvement of the City.

The estimated cost of this improvement is $ 45,000.

Payment for this improvement shall be made from a Community Development Block Grant and such other funds as may be lawfully appropriated.
