Section 100-034 Ord. 15880; Bid Call for Historic Restoration of Daniel Boone Building Lobby and Mezzanine

AN ORDINANCE

determining it is in the public interest to proceed with the historic restoration of the lobby and mezzanine of the Daniel Boone Building; approving and adopting plans and specifications; determining that the work shall be done by contract; ordering advertisement for bids; providing for payment for the improvement; authorizing the City Manager to obtain, execute and record all documents necessary for the improvement; providing for compliance with the prevailing wage law; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution declaring the necessity of constructing a second stairway from the mezzanine to the lobby, restoration of the wood ceiling, new light fixtures, handrails, carpeting and wall finishes on the mezzanine and reconstruction of the vestibule; and

The Council finds that the construction of a second stairway from the mezzanine to the lobby, restoration of the wood ceiling, new light fixtures, new handrails, carpeting and new wall finishes on the mezzanine and the reconstruction of the vestibule is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is in the public interest that such improvement be made.

The City Clerk is authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the construction of the improvement, according to the provisions of Section 2278 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Columbia, Missouri.

Payment for this improvement shall be made from the capital fund balance and from such other funds as may be lawfully appropriated.
