declaring the necessity for the construction of a 12-inch water main running along Scott Boulevard from Beach Pointe Drive south to the south side of the Katy Trail; stating the nature of and the estimated cost of the project; providing for payment for the improvement; and setting a public hearing.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council deems the construction of a 12-inch water main running along Scott Boulevard from Beach Pointe Drive south to the south side of the Katy Trail, in accordance with Water and Light Department water main plans and specifications necessary to the welfare and improvement of the City.

    SECTION 2.  The estimated cost of this improvement is $ 100,340.00.

    SECTION 3.  Payment for this improvement shall be made from the Water and Electric Fund using funds appropriated in Capital Improvement Project No. WT0076.

    SECTION 4.  The water main construction project shall not be bid but shall be constructed in part by city employees and in part using construction crews provided under the terms of a general services agreement.

    SECTION 5.  This resolution shall be published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Columbia for seven (7) consecutive insertions, and a public hearing in respect to this improvement will be held in the Council Chamber of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m. on March 6, 2000.
