determining that it is in the public interest to construct an 8inch water main located in and
serving Quail Creek, Plat 1; approving and adopting plans and specifications; determining that
the work shall be done by Greenwing Development, L.L.C.; appropriating funds; providing for
payment of the extra cost for constructing an 8-inch rather than a 6-inch water main; and fixing
the time when this ordinance shall become effective.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution on March 6, 2000, declaring the
of constructing an 8-inch water main located in and serving Quail Creek, Plat 1 and setting a
public hearing on this project; and
WHEREAS, the resolution was published in a daily newspaper of general circulation
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on construction of the water
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Council finds that the construction of an 8inch water main
located in and
serving Quail Creek, Plat 1 is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is
in the public interest that such improvement be made.
SECTION 2. The plans and specifications for this improvement, as prepared
by the Director
of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved
and made a part of this ordinance by reference.
SECTION 3. The construction of the improvement shall be done by Greenwing
SECTION 4. The sum of $ 5,215.50 is hereby appropriated from the Fund
No. 550-0000-351.01-00 to the Capital/Transmission and Distribution Mains Account No. 550-7220-881.68-60,
Project #WT0010, Work Request #WF0200028/5.
SECTION 5. The Director of Finance is authorized to pay Greenwing Development,
$5,215.50 for installing 1,525 feet of an 8-inch water main serving Quail Creek, Plat 1. This
amount is the differential cost of installing an 8-inch water main above the cost of installing a 6-inch
