declaring the necessity for the construction of a 12-inch water main located in and serving Valley View Ridge, Plat 1; stating the nature of the improvement; estimating the extra cost for constructing a 12-inch rather than a 6-inch water main; providing that the improvement shall be made by Homeview Properties, Inc.; and setting a public hearing.

WHEREAS, Homeview Properties, Inc. desires to install a 6-inch water main to serve property abutting the proposed water main extension; and

WHEREAS, the City for reasons of health, safety, public welfare, and future adequate service to areas other than Valley View Ridge, Plat 1, requires that a 12inch water main be installed; and

SECTION 1.  The Council deems the construction of about 850 feet of 12inch water main pipes and accessory valves and fittings located in and serving Valley View Ridge, Plat 1, necessary to assure adequate future water supply for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City.

SECTION 2.  The nature and scope of the improvement shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, transportation, insurance and all other items necessary for the complete construction of the water main described in Section 1.

SECTION 3.  The estimated differential cost (the cost of constructing a 12-inch water main which exceeds the cost of constructing a 6-inch water main) of this improvement is $ 9.11 per linear foot.

SECTION 4.  This improvement shall be made by Homeview Properties, Inc.

SECTION 5.  This resolution shall be published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Columbia for seven (7) consecutive insertions, and a public hearing in respect to this improvement will be held in the Council Chamber of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E.
