A RESOLUTION

authorizing the temporary closure of Fifth Street from Stewart Road south to the Conley Avenue parking garage and the eastbound lane of Elm Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets.

    WHEREAS, the Curators of the University of Missouri have requested permission of the City to temporarily close Fifth Street from Stewart Road south to the Conley Avenue parking garage and temporarily close Elm Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets to allow for the installation of chilled water loops and water lines for preparation of an addition to the UMC Power Plant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council hereby authorizes the Curators of the University of Missouri to temporarily close Fifth Street from Stewart Road south to the Conley Avenue parking garage from May 15, 2000 to June 12, 2000.

    SECTION 2.  The City Council hereby authorizes the Curators of the University of Missouri to temporarily close the eastbound lane of Elm Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets from May 15, 2000 to June 12, 2000.

    SECTION 3.  The Curators of the University of Missouri shall close streets only in accordance with the traffic control plan submitted and approved by the City’s Director of Public Works.  The Curators of the University of Missouri shall be responsible for all signs and barricades necessary for the protection and convenience of the general public.
