Section 101-268 Res. 96-00; Granting the Columbia Special Business District (SBD) Permission to Install Downtown Historic Walk Signs

A RESOLUTION

granting the Columbia Special Business District permission to install downtown historic walk signs.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The Columbia Special District is granted permission to install downtown historic walk signs at the locations described in “Exhibit A” subject to the following conditions:

    a.    The signs shall be approximately 6" x 8" and designed substantially in accordance with “Exhibit B.”
    b.    Attachment of the signs to street light poles shall be in a manner acceptable to the Water and Light Director.  Attachment of the signs to traffic signal poles shall be in a manner acceptable to the Public Works Director.  Attachment of the signs to canopy columns shall be subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Improvement Company of Columbia, Inc.
    c.    The Columbia Special Business District shall maintain all signs in good repair.
    d.    The Columbia Special Business District shall promptly remove the signs if instructed to do so by the City Council.  If the Columbia Special Business District fails to remove the signs after being instructed to do so by the City Council, the City shall remove the signs.
