A RESOLUTION

authorizing the temporary closure of Fifth Street from Stewart Road north approximately 600 feet and temporary closure of the intersection of Fifth and Stewart Streets.

    WHEREAS, the Curators of the University of Missouri have requested permission of the City to temporarily close Fifth Street from Stewart Road north approximately 600 feet and temporarily close the intersection of Fifth and Stewart Streets to allow for the construction of an addition to the UMC Power Plant and construction under Fifth Street.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council hereby authorizes the Curators of the University of Missouri to temporarily close Fifth Street from Stewart Road north approximately 600 feet from June 11, 2000 to September 1, 2001.

    SECTION 2.  The City Council hereby authorizes the Curators of the University of Missouri to temporarily close the intersection of Fifth and Stewart Streets from June 26, 2000 to July 14, 2000.

    SECTION 3.  The Curators of the University of Missouri shall close streets only in accordance with the traffic control plan submitted and approved by the City’s Director of Public Works.  The Curators of the University of Missouri shall be responsible for all signs and barricades necessary for the protection and convenience of the general public.
