Section 101-339 Res. 123-00; Calling a Public Hearing RE: Construction of a 12-inch Water Main Located in and Serving Arcadia, Plat 6
Council Bill No.
declaring the necessity for the construction of a 12-inch water main located in and
Arcadia, Plat 6; stating the nature of the improvement; estimating the extra cost for constructing
a 12-inch water main rather than an 8-inch water main; providing that the improvement shall be
made by Arcadia Development Group, L.L.C.; and setting a public hearing.
WHEREAS, Arcadia Development Group, L.L.C. desires to install
an 8-inch water main to
serve property abutting the proposed water main extension; and
WHEREAS, the City for reasons of health, safety, public welfare,
and future adequate service
to areas other than Arcadia, Plat 6, requires that a 12inch water main be installed; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for such installation have
been prepared by the Director
of the Water and Light Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Council deems the construction of about
2,305 feet of 12inch water main
pipes and accessory valves and fittings located in and serving Arcadia, Plat 6, necessary to assure
adequate future water supply for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City.
SECTION 2. The nature and scope of the improvement shall
consist of furnishing all labor,
materials, transportation, insurance and all other items necessary for the complete construction of
the water main described in Section 1.
SECTION 3. The estimated differential cost for a 12-inch
water main (the cost of constructing
a 12-inch water main which exceeds the cost for constructing an 8-inch water main) for this
improvement is $ 7.17 per linear foot.
SECTION 4. This improvement shall be made by Arcadia Development
SECTION 5. This resolution shall be published in a daily
newspaper of general circulation in
the City of Columbia for seven (7) consecutive insertions, and a public hearing in respect to this
improvement will be held in the Council Chamber of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E.
Broadway, Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m., on July 17, 2000.
