determining that it is in the public interest to construct a 12-inch water main serving Stonecrest,
Plat 1; approving and adopting plans and specifications; determining that the work shall be done
by Fred and Cheryl Overton; providing for payment of the extra cost for constructing a 12-inch
water main rather than an 8-inch water main; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution on November 6, 2000, declaring
necessity of constructing a 12-inch water main serving Stonecrest, Plat 1 and setting a public
hearing on this project; and
WHEREAS, the resolution was published in a daily newspaper of general circulation
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on construction of the water
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Council finds that the construction of about 2,250 feet
of 12inch water main
pipes and accessory valves and fittings running along a portion of Limestone Avenue, Shale
Oaks Avenue and Gillespie Bridge Road serving Stonecrest, Plat 1 is necessary for the welfare
and improvement of the City and that it is in the public interest that such improvement be made.
SECTION 2. The plans and specifications for this improvement, as prepared
by the Director
of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved
and made a part of this ordinance by reference.
SECTION 3. The construction of the improvement shall be done by Fred and

Overton $ 24,930
for installing a 12-inch water main serving Stonecrest, Plat 1. This amount is the differential
of installing a 12-inch water main above the cost of installing an 8-inch water main.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
