Council Bill No.          R 15-02   

    declaring the necessity for construction of improvements to Cosmo-Bethel Park and Kiwanis Park; stating the nature of and the estimate of the cost thereof; providing for payment for the improvement; and setting a public hearing.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council deems that the construction of improvements to Cosmo-Bethel Park and Kiwanis Park parking lots and roadways is necessary to the welfare and improvement of the City.

    SECTION 2.  The Kiwanis Park project includes repair of damaged roadway areas and curbs and an asphalt overlay of the entry road from College Park Drive and the parking lot serving the C.K. Odor Shelter.  The estimated cost of this improvement is $20,000 payment of which shall be made from the Local Parks Sales Tax Fund and such other funds as may be lawfully appropriated.

    SECTION 3.  The Cosmo-Bethel Park project includes repair of damaged roadway areas and curbs and an asphalt overlay of the entry road from Bethel Street and the parking lot serving the entire park.  The estimated cost of this improvement is $50,000, including $15,000 in city employee labor costs.  Payment for this improvement shall be made from the Capital Improvement Sales Tax Fund, and such other funds as may be lawfully appropriated.

    SECTION 4.  This resolution shall be published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Columbia for seven (7) consecutive insertions, and a public hearing in respect to this improvement will be held in the Council Chamber of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m. on February 4, 2002.
