AN ORDINANCE
authorizing the City to collect the airline Passenger Facility Charge from passengers embarking
from Columbia Regional Airport; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become
effective.
WHEREAS, Federal regulations establish and authorize the collection of Passenger
Facility
Charges (PFC) from passengers boarding commercial flights within the United States; and
WHEREAS, all funds generated by PFCs are required by Federal regulation to
be used to
fund the local share of airport improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Upon approval of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA),
the City shall
collect the airline PFC in the amount of $4.50 in the manner and for the purposes set out by FAA
regulations.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage.
