Section 103-310; Res. 107-02; Authorizing the Temporary Closure of Portions of Rollins Street between Virginia Avenue and Hitt Street

A RESOLUTION

authorizing the temporary closure of portions of Rollins Street between Virginia Avenue and Hitt Street.

    WHEREAS, the Curators of the University of Missouri have requested permission of the City to temporarily close portions of Rollins Street between Virginia Avenue and Hitt Street to allow for the construction of a sanitary sewer line to serve the Life Sciences Center.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council hereby authorizes the Curators of the University of Missouri (the “University”) to temporarily close portions of Rollins Street between Virginia Avenue and Hitt Street from May 21, 2002 to June 7, 2002.

    SECTION 2.  The University shall close streets only in accordance with the traffic control plan submitted and approved by the City’s Director of Public Works.  The University shall be responsible for all signs and barricades necessary for the protection and convenience of the general public.  The University shall give notice of the street closing to the news media and emergency services.
