Section 103-320; Ord. 17332; Authorizing Replacement of Water Mains along Bicknell, Walnut, Aldeah and Ash Streets

declaring it is in the public interest to proceed with the replacement of water mains
Bicknell, Walnut, Aldeah and Ash Streets; approving the plans and specifications; determining
that the work shall be done by City employees and construction crews provided under the terms
of a general services agreement; providing for payment for the improvement; appropriating
funds; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a resolution declaring
the necessity for the
replacement of water mains along Bicknell, Walnut, Aldeah and Ash Streets in conjunction with
sewer reconstruction work and setting a public hearing on this project; and
WHEREAS, the resolution has been published in a daily newspaper
of general circulation in
the City of Columbia; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing on the project has been held.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council deems the replacement of 4-inch
and 6-inch water mains with
6-inch water mains along Bicknell, Walnut, Aldeah and Ash Streets in conjunction with sewer
reconstruction work is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is in the
public interest that such improvement be made.
SECTION 2. The plans and specifications for this improvement,
as prepared by the Director
of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved,
adopted and made a part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. As deemed advisable by the City Manager, city
employees and construction
crews provided under the terms of a general services agreement shall be used to construct the

using funds appropriated in Capital Improvement Project No. WT0010 and from such other
funds as may be lawfully appropriated.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
