AN ORDINANCE
amending Chapter 22 of the City Code as it relates to special assessments for street maintenance
projects involving unimproved streets; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become
effective.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 22 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Columbia,
Missouri, is
hereby amended as follows:

Sec. 22-104. Special assessments limited to two dollars per front foot.
(a) The council may cause unimproved streets, avenues, alleys and other
public places of the
city, or any part thereof, to be sprinkled, oiled, repaired, surfaced and resurfaced, and the cost
may be defrayed by a special assessment not to exceed two dollars ($2.00) per front foot.
(b) The council shall not levy special assessments under this section for
any street
maintenance project initiated after July 15, 2002.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage.
