Section 103-434; Ord. 17400; Fixing the Rate of Taxation on all Taxable Property in the City of Columbia (Property Tax Rates for 2002)

AN ORDINANCE

fixing the rate of taxation on all taxable property in the City of Columbia, Missouri, for the year 2002; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  For the purpose of maintaining a General Revenue Fund, there is hereby levied a tax at the rate of forty-one (41) cents on the one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation on all taxable property in the City of Columbia, Missouri, for the year 2002.

    SECTION 2.     For the purpose of maintaining a Public Library Operating Fund, as directed by vote of the citizenry on April 1, 1975, there is hereby levied a tax at the rate of thirty-one and forty-one one hundreds cents (31.41) on the one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation on all taxable property in the Columbia Public Library District for the year 2002.

    SECTION 3.  For the purpose of paying the principal and interest on outstanding Columbia Public Library District General Obligation Bonds, there is hereby levied a tax at the rate of thirty-two and a half (32.5) cents on the one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation on all taxable property in the Columbia Public Library District for the year 2002.
    
    SECTION 4.  For the purpose of maintaining a Special Business District Fund to support activities and improvements within the established Special Business District, there is hereby levied a tax at the rate of forty-three (43) cents on the one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation on all taxable property in the Special Business District for the year 2002.

    SECTION 5.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
