AN ORDINANCE

declaring it is in the public interest to proceed with the relocation of a water main located at the intersection of Brown School Road and Highway 763; approving the plans and specifications; determining the work shall be done by City employees; providing for payment for the improvement; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.

    WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted a resolution declaring the necessity for the relocation of a 12-inch water main located at the intersection of Brown School Road and Highway 763 and setting a public hearing on this project; and

    WHEREAS, the resolution has been published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Columbia; and

    WHEREAS, the public hearing on the project has been held.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council deems the relocation of a 12-inch water main located at the intersection of Brown School Road and Highway 763 is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is in the public interest that such improvement be made.

    SECTION 2.  The plans and specifications for this improvement, as prepared by the Director of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved, adopted and made a part of this ordinance.

    SECTION 3.  As deemed advisable by the City Manager, City employees shall be used to construct the improvements.

    SECTION 4. Payment for this improvement shall be made from the Water and Electric Fund Project WT0010 and from such other funds as may be lawfully appropriated.

    SECTION 5.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
