A RESOLUTION

setting a public hearing to consider levying special assessments and authorizing the issuance of special tax bills against property in the Grasslands Addition to pay part of the cost of acquiring open space and park land.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.  The City Council shall conduct a public hearing to consider levying special assessments and authorizing the issuance of special tax bills in the amount of $2,173.91 against each legal parcel within the benefit district established by Ordinance No. 17433 for acquisition of open space and park land in the Grasslands Addition.  The hearing shall be held in the Council Chamber of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m. on March 3, 2003.  All interested persons shall be given the opportunity to be heard.

    SECTION 2.  The benefit district established by Ordinance No. 17433 is described as all properties, except the vacant tracts purchased for park land and open space, within the district bounded on the east by Providence Road, on the north by those lots which front on Burnam Road and Clarkson Road, on the south by Stadium Boulevard, and on the west by the MKT Trail.

    SECTION 3.  The City Clerk is directed to cause notice of the hearing to be published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Columbia.
