BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS
SECTION 1. Chapter 29 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Columbia, Missouri, is
hereby amended as follows:

Sec. 29-15. District C-2, central business district.
Purpose. This district is intended to provide for commercial facilities in the central
business district. The principal land uses are retail sales, services, offices and public facilities.

Conditional Uses. The following uses shall be permitted in district C-2 only after the
issuance of a conditional use permit pursuant to the provisions of section 29-23:

Uncovered, surface commercial parking for automobiles and light trucks, except for publicly-owned
Uncovered, surface off-street
private parking areas or commercial parking areas for automobiles
and light trucks,
except for publicly-owned parking facilities subject to the
following conditions: .
(1) The parking area shall be located on the rear portion of the lot
no closer than twenty-five
(25) feet to a street right-of-way;
(2) A building shall be located between the parking area and the street,
except that a
landscaped courtyard or plaza may occupy up to twenty-five (25) percent of the area between the
parking area and the street; and
(3) Access to the parking area shall come from an alley; if an alley
exist, access may come from a local non-residential street.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
