determining that it is in the public interest to construct a 12-inch water main serving
Apartments; approving and adopting plans and specifications; determining that the work shall be
done by GAP Properties, LLC; providing for payment of the extra cost for constructing a 12-inch
rather than an 8-inch water main; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution on August 15,
2005, declaring the necessity
of constructing a 12-inch water main serving Woodhaven Apartments; and
WHEREAS, the resolution was published in a daily newspaper of
general circulation in the
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on construction
of the water main.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Council finds that the
construction of a 12-inch water main serving
Woodhaven Apartments is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is in
the public interest that such improvement be made.
SECTION 2. The plans and specifications
for this improvement, as prepared by the Director
of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved
and made a part of this ordinance by reference.
SECTION 3. The construction of the improvement
shall be done by GAP Properties, LLC.
SECTION 4. The Director of Finance is
authorized to pay GAP Properties, LLC $13,419.70
for installing 1,330 feet of 12-inch water main serving Woodhaven Apartments. This amount is
the differential cost of installing a 12-inch water main above the cost of installing an 8-inch water
main. Payment shall be made from the Capital/Transmission and Distribution Mains Account
No. 550-7220-881.68-60, Work Request #WF0791851, Project WT0123, Job 5.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage.
