determining that it is in the public interest to construct an 8inch water main serving
View PUD; approving and adopting plans and specifications; determining that the work shall be
done by Dennison Properties, LLC; providing for payment of the extra cost for constructing an 8-inch
rather than a 6-inch water main; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution on October
16, 2006, declaring the
necessity of constructing an 8-inch water main serving Phoenix View PUD and setting a public
hearing on this project; and
WHEREAS, the resolution was published in a daily newspaper
of general circulation in the
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing on construction
of the water main.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Council finds that
the construction of an 8inch water main serving Phoenix
View PUD is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is in the public
interest that such improvement be made.
SECTION 2. The plans and specifications
for this improvement, as prepared by the Director
of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved
and made a part of this ordinance by reference.
SECTION 3. The construction of the
improvement shall be done by Dennison Properties,
SECTION 4. The Director of Finance
is authorized to pay Dennison Properties, LLC
$1,358.00 for installing 175 feet of an 8-inch water main serving Phoenix View PUD. This
amount is the differential cost of installing an 8-inch water main above the cost of installing a 6-inch
water main. Payment shall be made from the Capital/Transmission and Distribution Mains
Account No. 550-7220-881.68-60 WF0759576/Project WT0123/Job 5.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage.
