Section 108-094; Res. 20-07; Declaring the necessity for construction of traffic calming speed humps on Alexander Avenue between Ash Street and Worley Street; setting a public hearing

     A RESOLUTION

declaring the necessity for construction of traffic calming speed humps on Alexander Avenue between Ash Street and Worley Street; stating the nature of and the estimate of the cost of the improvement; providing for payment for the improvement; providing that the work shall be done by city employees; and setting a public hearing.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1.    The City Council deems the construction of two traffic calming speed humps on Alexander Street between Ash Street and Worley Street, all in accordance with the City of Columbia Street and Storm Sewer Specifications and Standards, necessary to the welfare and improvement of the City.

SECTION 2.    The estimated cost of this improvement is $9,000.00.

SECTION 3.    Payment for this improvement shall be made from transportation sales tax funds and such other funds as may be lawfully appropriated.

SECTION 4.  The improvement shall be constructed by city employees.

SECTION 5.    This resolution shall be published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the City of Columbia for seven (7) consecutive insertions, and a public hearing in respect to this improvement will be held in the Council Chamber of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m. on February 19, 2007.
