     AN ORDINANCE

amending Chapter 14 of the City Code to establish an all-way stop at the intersection of Nifong Boulevard and Bearfield Road and to set the speed limit along Bearfield Road; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.    Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Columbia, Missouri, is hereby amended as follows:

Sec. 14-63. All-way stop intersections.

The city traffic engineer is authorized and directed to place and maintain stop signs and, where appropriate, yield signs at the following all-way stop intersections:

    Maryland Avenue and Rollins Street.

     Nifong Boulevard and Bearfield Road.

    Nifong Boulevard and Sinclair Street.

Sec. 14-223. Speed restrictions on city streets.

    (a)     No person shall drive a vehicle on any street at a greater speed than is reasonable and approved under conditions then and there existing.

    (b)     No person shall, where no special hazard exists, drive a vehicle at a speed in excess of the following:

    (4)     Thirty-five miles per hour, night and day, on:

. . .

        o.    Richland Road from St. Charles Road to the Columbia city limits.

         p.    Bearfield Road.

    SECTION 2.    This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
