     AN ORDINANCE

allowing the 2009 Show Me Green Sales Tax Holiday to apply to Columbia sales taxes; directing the City Clerk to give notice of this ordinance to the Department of Revenue; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

    SECTION 1.    The City of Columbia shall allow the Show Me Green Sales Tax Holiday to apply to Columbia’ s sales taxes during the period beginning at 12:01 a.m. on April 19, 2009 and ending at midnight on April 25, 2009.

    SECTION 2.    The City Clerk shall send a certified copy of this ordinance and a cover letter to the Department of Revenue no later than March 2, 2009.

    SECTION 3.    This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
