Section 110-097; Ord. 20205; Determining that it is in the public interest to construct an 8-inch water main serving The Village at Wyndham Ridge, Plat 1 (Phase 1); determining that the work shall be done by Mill Creek Manor, Inc.

determining that it is in the public interest to construct an 8inch water main serving The Village at Wyndham Ridge, Plat 1 (Phase 1); approving and adopting plans and specifications; determining that the work shall be done by Mill Creek Manor, Inc.; providing for payment of the extra cost for constructing an 8-inch rather than a 6-inch water main; and fixing the time when this ordinance shall become effective.

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a resolution on February 16, 2009 declaring the necessity of constructing an 8-inch water main serving The Village at Wyndham Ridge, Plat 1 (Phase 1) and setting a public hearing on this project; and

WHEREAS, the resolution was published in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the city; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The Council finds that the construction of an 8inch water main serving The Village at Wyndham Ridge, Plat 1 (Phase 1) is necessary for the welfare and improvement of the City and that it is in the public interest that such improvement be made.

SECTION 2. The plans and specifications for this improvement, as prepared by the Director of the Water and Light Department and filed in the office of the City Clerk, are hereby approved and made a part of this ordinance by reference.

SECTION 4. The Director of Finance is authorized to pay Mill Creek Manor, Inc. $2,788.00 for installing 400 feet of an 8-inch water main serving The Village at Wyndham Ridge, Plat 1 (Phase 1). This amount is the differential cost of installing an 8-inch water main above the cost of installing a 6-inch water main. Payment shall be made from the Capital/Transmission and Distribution Mains Account No. 550-7220-881.68-60 WF1241908/Project WT0143/Job 5.
