Request To Remove Zoning Related Item From The Consent Agenda

Procedures/Guidelines: (Ordinance No. 20181)

The City Manager may place a Council bill that rezones property, approves a development plan or amends Chapter 29 on the consent agenda when the following requirements are met:

  • The commission has recommended approval of the proposal with less than twenty-five percent (25%) of the commissions present voting against the motion to approve.
  • The applicant agrees with the commission recommendation.
  • No protest petition has been timely filed with the city clerk.
  • The commission has not recommended that the proposal be considered under old business.

Any such bill on the consent agenda shall be removed and placed under old business at the request of a council member or any other interested person.  The request must be made to the city clerk before noon on the Wednesday before the council meeting at which the council bill is scheduled to be considered for passage.  The city council may remove any such bill from the consent agenda and place it under old business at the council meeting at which the council bill is scheduled to be considered for passage.

Requests must be received in the City Clerk’s Office by noon on the Wednesday preceding the City Council meeting at which the council bill is scheduled to be considered for passage.
