Municipal Court
for the city of Columbia is a division of the Circuit Court of Boone County, 13th Judicial Circuit.

Mandatory Court Appearances

Only certain traffic violations are payable without an appearance in court. The following violations require a court appearance either in accordance with State law or by the order of the Municipal Judge:

DWI/BAC
DUS/DUR
Careless & Imprudent Driving (C&I)
Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance
No Operators License (2nd offense)
Any traffic offense involving an accident (regardless of extent of damages)
All ordinance violations (For example: stealing, loud noise, assault, housing code, etc.)
