The Homeland Security Community Bulletin was created to heighten awareness.The need for heightened community awareness has increased since the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001. People frequently have questions and concerns about terrorism, disasters and emergencies at a local level. What are the people that protect us doing to get the job done? What do we need to do to protect ourselves? Are we prepared for what may happen and how to recover if it does? These are all good questions, but how do we get the word out to you, the public, in a consistent and informative method? This bulletin is an effort to accomplish just that. This document will be published periodically, along with incident-specific (ie tornado, flooding, winter storms) “all-hazards” flyers, pamphlets and bulletins.
